National Grid consultation closing soon

  • Have your say before consultation closes on 16 December 2016
  • Second overhead line and tunnel under the Menai Strait proposed to connect Wylfa Newydd
  • See what the route could look like and find out more online

Communities are being encouraged to have their say on National Grid’s proposals to connect Wylfa Newydd power station to the national electricity network.  The proposals include a second overhead line that broadly follows the existing connection between Wylfa and Pentir and a tunnel under the Menai Strait.

Gareth Williams, Senior Project Manager, said:

“Thank you to everyone that has already given us their feedback; we’ve had some really valuable comments.  We recognise that some people have concerns about our proposals and this is your opportunity to provide your feedback.  If you think there are ways we can change the proposals to reduce the effects tell us how and, importantly, tell us why.

"Your feedback is really important and helps shapes how our proposals develop and will continue to do so.  This is likely to be our last consultation and you have until the 16 December to send us your feedback and we look forward to receiving your comments.”

More information is available at www.northwalesconnection.com including 3D drive-through films of different roads along the route to show you what you could see when the new connection is built.  There are also viewpoints, photos, films and an interactive map that will let you see what the second connection could look like.
